Research Focus

One of the research directions in my lab is about climate events and human health. Climate change is a big challenge to public health. How to incorporate climate factors into ongoing and future environmental epidemiological cohorts is a critical issue. For summer 2024, we would like to host undergraduate students to do literature review, interviewing with relevant experts, and brainstorming to identify the barriers and generate innovative strategies to empower climate change and public health research.

Skills, Techniques, and Methods

We want passionate students who have basic skills in searching for and summarizing literature. The students should have good communication skills. It will be a plus if the students have analytical skills, but it is not a request. The students can learn analytical skills during this summer’s research work.

Research Conditions

The students will be in an office space at WashU’s medical campus.

Team Structure and Opportunities

Wang lab is located in the CSRB building in the medical campus. We have a biomedical research laboratory and a bioinformatics team. The students will have opportunity to attend weekly lab meetings and get exposed to both biostatistical analysis, human and environmental sample processing, and basic molecular biology.
